UNDESERVED
Taking us up by the hand, we fell.
For several times, we did
we fell,
even in the attempt of keeping us still.
We acquiesced to our frailty,
and took to the ground of no good;
Ate sand, smoked dust, embraced all filth and did the surprising.
It was a whopping great contract with Mr Sin.
We could work just for hours and get sheafs of them,
thousand sheafs of sin!
And the recompense, oh goodness,
the world was ours;
right under our feet.
Pleasures provoking stillness in the soul yet digging death pits
When we came alive, the demons said there was no backtrack
Because 'Grace', our love was already lost
And we had to buckle up for the tragedy ahead.
Spines chilled and it looked like forever
until 'Mercy' showed up,
proving love beyond
And gifting the undeserved.
Just take a glance through the previous pages and even now—
Of your life.
Can you boast of a page without a stain?
Yet He, God calls us His bride
Do we deserve?
